Good London study spots

I love Time Out's lists of "London's Best ..." and I was wondering if there's any chance of a list of top study/work friendly places in London?

I am a PhD student and I like working where there are other people and a gentle buzz of background noise, rather than alone in a silent library. I am a regular visiter to a number of local coffee shops but it would be nice to have some variety. I'm sure there must be other students and/or laptop-based professionals who feel the same.

So I'd like a list of places that don't mind you, accompanied by books, notes, laptop etc, lingering over your coffee. Good coffee, wifi and a half-decent window to gaze out of in moments of procrastination would be a bonus.
